Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Luang Prabang

Arrive in Luang Prabang, the cultural and spiritual heart of Laos, where you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and driver. Transfer to your hotel and complete check-in before enjoying the rest of the day at leisure. You may choose to relax in the comfort of your hotel or begin exploring the gentle atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage town at your own pace.
Day 2 – Nam Ou River Cruise and Pak Ou Caves

This morning, leave Luang Prabang and drive about 1.5 hours north to Ban Don Ngurn, where your private boat awaits. Begin a scenic cruise along the Nam Ou River, passing dramatic limestone karst landscapes and peaceful riverside villages.
During the journey, stop for a gourmet picnic lunch with wine, beautifully prepared by one of Luang Prabang’s finest restaurants and served in a stunning natural setting along the riverbank. In the afternoon, continue cruising to Ban Vanglae, a Lu ethnic village known for its traditional weaving and natural dyeing techniques.
Later, the cruise continues toward the Mekong River and the sacred Pak Ou Caves, one of Laos’ most revered spiritual sites. Filled with thousands of Buddha images placed by pilgrims over many generations, the caves offer both cultural significance and a memorable setting above the river. After your visit, cruise back toward Luang Prabang and arrive in the early evening.
Day 3 – Elephant Camp, Tad Sae Waterfall, and Bamboo Raft Lunch

Today begins with an introduction to the Shangri Lao elephant camp, where you will learn more about elephants and the work of the camp. Meet the resident veterinarian, feed the elephants, and enjoy the serene riverside environment before continuing into the surrounding countryside.
Travel through a landscape of jungle, teak forest, and rolling hills on the way to the beautiful Tad Sae Waterfall. Along the route, take in wonderful views over the Nam Khan River Valley. At the waterfall, there will be time to relax and admire the striking limestone formations and turquoise pools hidden within the forest. Depending on the season and water levels, you may also have the opportunity to swim in the natural pools.
Later, head down to the Nam Khan River, where a luxury bamboo raft awaits. Enjoy a traditional Lao lunch on board as you drift gently along the river, watching village life unfold on the banks. After this unique and relaxing experience, return to the elephant camp and transfer back to your hotel in Luang Prabang.
Day 4 – Luang Prabang to Vientiane

This morning, transfer to the airport for your short flight to Vientiane, the charming capital of Laos. Upon arrival, meet your guide and begin a city tour featuring some of the capital’s most important cultural and historical landmarks.
Visit Wat Sisaket, the oldest surviving temple in Vientiane, famous for its thousands of miniature Buddha statues. Continue to Wat Ho Phra Keo, the former royal temple that now serves as a museum of religious art and antiques. Then travel along Lane Xang Avenue and stop at the Patuxai Monument, often compared to the Arc de Triomphe, where you can enjoy panoramic views over the city.
After lunch, take part in a traditional Lao Baci ceremony, a meaningful cultural ritual performed to welcome guests, celebrate important occasions, and bring blessings for health, happiness, and safe travels. In the afternoon, visit the COPE Visitor Centre, an insightful and moving exhibition highlighting the ongoing impact of unexploded ordnance in Laos and the efforts being made to support affected communities.
Day 5 – Vientiane to Pakse and Don Daeng Island

Transfer to the airport early this morning for your flight to Pakse in southern Laos. Upon arrival, drive a short distance to the boat pier and board a private traditional boat for a scenic two-hour cruise to Champasak.
Before reaching your island retreat, visit Wat Phou, one of Laos’ most remarkable temple complexes and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dating back to the Khmer era, this ancient religious site is dramatically set against the hillside and offers a fascinating glimpse into the region’s spiritual and architectural heritage.
After exploring Wat Phou, continue by boat to Don Daeng Island, arriving in time for lunch. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying the island’s quiet charm and relaxed pace of life. Your accommodation for the next two nights is La Folie Lodge, a beautiful retreat overlooking the Mekong River, offering elegant rooms and a peaceful atmosphere in an exceptional natural setting.
Day 6 – Leisure on Don Daeng Island

Today is free for you to enjoy Don Daeng Island at your own pace. Relax by the pool, take in the Mekong views, or explore the island by bicycle through peaceful villages and rural landscapes. This is a wonderful opportunity to slow down, unwind, and experience the tranquil beauty of southern Laos in comfort.
Day 7 – Don Daeng Island Departure
Depending on your departure schedule, enjoy some final leisure time before leaving Don Daeng Island. Later, cross back to the mainland by boat and continue to Pakse for your onward flight. Your luxury Laos journey concludes with unforgettable memories of sacred temples, scenic rivers, rich traditions, and serene landscapes from north to south.
