Detailed Guide to Applying for a Vietnam eVisa
You only need to follow this guide, and you will be able to get your eVisa without paying for an application service. The most important thing to remember is that you should only fill in the fields marked with an “*”. These are the required fields that the Vietnamese government needs in order to review your application. The other fields are not necessary in most cases. They are mainly intended for applicants from more difficult nationalities. You can check the list here: Nationalities That Are Difficult to Obtain a Vietnam eVisa.
Now, let’s get started.
Step 1: Visit the official website of the Vietnamese government: https://evisa.gov.vn
The website interface will look like the image shown below.

Step 3: Scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Step 4:
Portrait photography: Upload your portrait photo.
Passport data page image: Upload your passport photo page.Wait a moment. Once the photo and passport have been uploaded successfully, the screen will look like this:
Match: 81.14%, and there is a notice saying: “Portrait photo was captured from another source. Your application may be rejected. Please upload another photo.”There is no need to worry about this. A match rate above 60% is usually acceptable. You can read this article of mine for reassurance. In that example, the match rate was only 58%: What photo match rate is acceptable when applying for an eVisa? After the upload is complete, the system will automatically fill in the passport information in the form. You do not need to edit it, because it is usually already correct. Later, we can check all the details again.
